Step 1: Carefully dilute the caustic soda in the water, adding it slowly. When you add it, it's normal for it to release toxic vapors, but don't worry, as long as you wear gloves and a mask, you shouldn't have any problems. When you do this process the temperature of the mixture will rise a lot, so you should let it cool for a couple of hours.

Step 2: Once you have created the caustic lye with the water and soda, carefully pour the used olive oil over the mixture. We continue stirring slowly and always in the same direction to prevent the soap from curdling.
