One of the best compliments anyone can say to you is You smell so good! right? Fragrances provoke so many sensations in us and, let's face it, we love the fact that we intoxicate those around us with our scent.
That's why in this post, we want to give you a series of tips so you know where to apply your perfume so it lasts longer, and so nothing can resist you.
How to apply perfume so it lasts longer
Although as we will see later, the pH of the skin is a determining factor in the duration of a perfume and depending on the level you have you should apply one type of perfume or another, these tips are essential to make your perfume last longer overall.
1. ALWAYS AFTER THE SHOWER
With clean skin, the scent will set better, even more so if you shower with hot water, since the pores will open and absorb much more of the scent.
2. HYDRATE YOUR SKIN
The perfume will last much longer if applied to a well-hydrated body. So it's best to apply a little moisturizer before applying the perfume.
Of course, make sure it's a cream with a neutral scent so that an explosive aromatic cocktail doesn't result.
3. FIND YOUR HEARTBEAT
The ideal areas to apply perfume are your pulse points. And what are these?
Very simple, all those in which you feel your heart beats; such as behind the ears, in the wrists, on the inside of the elbows, in the collar bones or behind theknees.
This is because in these areas the body temperature is higher and the perfume evaporates more slowly.
4. AT A DISTANCE
Don't place the dispenser too close to your skin as this is completely counterproductive. It's best to place it about 10 centimeters away.
This way, the scent will be distributed delicately and the fragrance will be at its best, smelling wonderful.
5. DON'T BATHE IN PERFUME
Although we already know that with the prices we have at DIVAIN it doesn't cause you any conflict about spending and spending bottles of perfume... it's not good at all to “bathe” in it every time you apply it.
And the thing is, the perfume becomes imperceptible to your own sense of smell a few minutes after applying it, since you get used to it. But that doesn't mean you're missing out; everyone around you will be able to smell it. Of course, you can occasionally touch up your perfume to maintain the intensity of the scent, as a fragrance usually lasts an average of 6 hours.
If you follow these tips on how to apply perfume, you'll surely make it last longer on your skin. And if you want the scent to last forever, apply it to your clothes as well. Be careful that they're not too delicate, so as not to cause stains that will be difficult to remove. Oh! And we don't recommend applying it to your hair, as it dries it out a lot.
Although, of course, there are certain factors that influence the durability of scents, such as sweating, eating habits, or the pH of your skin. Let's take a closer look at how the latter affects how long our favorite fragrances last.
How long a perfume lasts depending on your skin's pH
Keep in mind that your skin's pH has a lot to do with how long a perfume lasts on your skin. Let's look at the different skin types and which types of perfume (according to olfactory family and intensity) are most recommended for each of them.
Acidic skin
Acidic skin is that which has the lowest pH, with a value between 10 and 15. In these skin types, the concentration of acids naturally generated by the body (necessary for its well-being) is much higher than normal; which is why they are much drier and prone to redness.
The fixation of aromas is worse on dry skin, so if you have this type of skin and you want the perfumes to last longer on it, you should opt for the sweeter olfactory families, such as vanilla, musk or the amaderada.
Neutral skin
With a pH between 16 and 20,neutral skin types are the most balanced and on which all types of perfumes last longer.
Skin alkaline
Alkaline skin is characterized by its smoothness and hydration. It is the complete opposite of acidic skin, since it is the skin with the highest pH level (21 or more).
Alkaline skin intensifies aromas, so if you have this type, it is not recommended that you use fragrances that are too intense, unless you want to intoxicate (in the bad sense of the word) everyone around you.
If you have this type, we recommend fresh perfumes, such as those from the aquatic olfactory family, the chypre olfactory family or the citrus olfactory family.
We hope that now that you know where to apply your perfume to make it last longer, you will get the most out of your fragrances and that they will accompany you throughout the day, thus making it more bearable. And with a good perfume, everything is better!
